I Don’t Vote

I’m ashamed to admit that I voted in the George W Bush election. I didn’t like Bush and I didn’t like Gore so I cast a third party vote for Ralph Nader (forgive me I was young).

Some say voting outside the major 2 parties was essentially a vote for Bush anyway.

I don’t believe it made any difference in the outcome.

But symbolically I endorsed a candidate who I didn’t like while participating in an act of futility.

The system is rigged and the figureheads “elected” are mere puppets who’s strings are pulled by the sadistic corporate cabal that is the shadow government.

So now I don’t vote.

People say…

“But if you don’t vote you don’t have any reason to complain”

“But if you don’t vote you don’t participate in our democracy”

Yeah sure… that’s cute. You passed your 3rd grade social studies test.

In some jurisdictions within America people can cast what is known as a scratch vote, or NOTA (none of the above) which tallies the voters who disapprove of all the candidates presented.

Some attribute the lack of voter turnout to apathy and or ignorance. I think most of them don’t vote because none of the candidates appeal to them.

In the 1960’s a popular slogan among the growing counterculture was vote for nobody.

People we’re beginning to see through the false political paradigm of the two party system. Neither party represented them. They knew that partisan politics would do nothing to stop the Vietnam War.

As the legendary English rock band The Who said…

“Meet the new boss, Same as the old boss”

But we did get fooled again.

Some people in the last election knew Hillary was a poor choice but they voted for her anyway because they thought The Donald was ridiculous (or vice versa). Some people voted for Donald because they knew Hillary was evil but they thought Trump was the lesser of two evils (or vice versa).

Most people who voted for either Donald or Hillary actually believed they were voting for the right person.

Holy shit!
